Fresh Tech Mission at HWS

Help Highgate Wood School upgrade laptops & classroom technology, giving students the tools they need to learn and thrive.

Highgate Wood Secondary School has always been a place where young people are encouraged to aim high, think creatively, and prepare confidently for the future. As a proud and inclusive community school in North London, we are committed to giving every student the opportunity to thrive — both inside and outside the classroom.

Today, technology plays a central role in how students learn, collaborate, and develop the skills they will need for higher education and the modern workplace. From interactive lessons and creative projects to research, coursework, and digital literacy, access to reliable technology is no longer a luxury — it is an essential part of a high-quality education.

Like many schools across the country, we are working within increasingly stretched budgets while trying to maintain the high standards our students deserve. Much of our current classroom technology has served us well for many years, but a significant proportion of our laptops and interactive whiteboards are now reaching the end of their usable life. Replacing and upgrading this equipment is essential if we are to continue delivering engaging, modern learning experiences for all students.

Over the next three years, our goal is to replace 30 student laptops and 10 interactive whiteboards each year. To achieve this, we are aiming to raise £26,000 annually through voluntary donations and community support.

This project is not simply about purchasing equipment — it is about investing in opportunity. New laptops will give students greater access to digital learning, independent study, and collaborative work. Updated interactive whiteboards will help teachers create more engaging, dynamic lessons that support every type of learner.

We know that schools are strongest when communities come together. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us create classrooms that are fit for the future and ensure that our students continue to benefit from the best possible learning environment.

By supporting this campaign, you are helping to equip the next generation with the tools, confidence, and skills they need to succeed.

Thank you for being part of the Highgate Wood Secondary School community and for supporting the future of our students.
