Pendarren House Trip 2025

A huge congratulations to all the students and accompanying staff who took part in the incredible adventures at Pendarren House Outdoor Education Centre from 1st to 4th April 2025. The trip was a fantastic opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, connect with nature, and learn valuable life skills while exploring the stunning Brecon Beacons.

Everyone had a blast—whether it was discovering new strengths, making lasting memories with friends, or simply enjoying the beauty of the Welsh countryside. Our thanks go to the dedicated Pendarren staff for their expert guidance and support throughout the experience.

Mr Griffith writes:

It was a privilege to take 46 Year 9 students to Pendarren House in Wales for a truly memorable four-day adventure. Students embraced a variety of outdoor and team-building activities, such as caving, gorge walking, and kayaking. They challenged themselves in ways they never imagined.

The experience was not only an opportunity for them to have fun but also for personal growth, and they truly represented Highgate Wood School with enthusiasm and spirit. We’re already looking forward to returning for more outdoor adventures next year!
