Please find below the fortnightly timetables for Years 7-11. This means that there is a specific evening when each subject’s homework should be completed.
Homework Timetable 2019-2020
The expectation is that students complete their homework on the date specified in the homework timetable. This means that staff should set the homework before that evening and collect it afterwards. Exactly when before or when afterwards is to be decided by the teacher. All homework tasks need to be published on Show My Homework.

Options for Key Stage 4 listed below |
There are many tasks teachers may set students to complete as their homework such as carrying out research, preparing presentations, revising a topic, completing an assessment, working as part of a larger group, undertaking a project, reviewing and improving an earlier exercise and carrying out some activity online.
Not every child in the same class will be set the same homework. Homework will be differentiated to meet the needs of the individual learner and support everyone in their progress forward.
Homework is assessed in a range of ways. Some examples include peer-assessment, self-assessment, a quiz, a presentation or teacher assessment. The assessment should always be valuable and should help you realise what it is you have done well and what next steps are needed to improve.
All homework is now made available through Show My Homework.

KS5 Homework
- Post 16 students will not have a set timetable like the other years, enabling teachers to set homework, when appropriate, on a more frequent basis than just twice a week;
- Instead, teachers are expected to set at least eight hours of homework a fortnight, as a minimum. This means that two teachers sharing a group will approximately set four hours of homework each fortnight, as a minimum;
- All homework tasks whether short or extended must be recorded in Show My Homework;
- Some homework can consist of note taking, consolidation of learning within lessons. However, all homework set must be meaningful, and at least one homework needs to be an extended task e.g an essay style response, or something similar;
- Departments must identify how the set homework will be assessed in line with departmental practice, and the school homework policy.
