We share a significant amount of information with the Local Authority to maximise the effectiveness of the school’s and the wider provision for support in general and also in connection to individual children in particular.
The SENCO attends termly meetings with the Local Authority to receive national and local updates, and the department works with specialist staff within the authority (e.g. Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapists, Early Help providers etc.) as well as sharing the expertise of our own specialists.
The current code of practice includes guidance on the joint planning and commissioning of services to ensure close co-operation between education, health services and social care.
