Commentary
Headteacher Patrick Cozier said,
“We are delighted that our sixth form students at Highgate Wood School have again gained an extremely positive set of examination results. These very pleasing overall results reflects a whole collection of individual stories of success and achievement. None of it has come easily.
I know how hard our students have worked and the huge efforts made by them, their teachers and families to overcome the very real challenges of school closure during their GCSE years. This particular year group was the most affected at HWS during that time. Their achievements have been hard earned and very well-deserved. I wish each and every one of them my sincerest congratulations.
I would also like to extend a debt of gratitude to all of our staff who have contributed so much to the positive outcomes achieved by our students. Their relentless hard work and dedication is second to none and I know that our students are truly grateful for the magnificent support they have received from the staff.”
Director of 6th Form, Mo Julian said,
“I am so incredibly proud of the results achieved by our Year 13 students this year. Their hard work during their time at HWS has been rewarded with excellent grades and with the vast majority of students gaining places at their top choice of university. I feel fortunate to have witnessed their journey over the last year and have been acutely aware of, not only the academic progress made, but also the social and emotional growth.
Sixth form presents an array of unique challenges, be it the intense level of study, progression choices, starting a new school, external pressures and this cohort in particular have demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity. Every student has had a unique journey and we are excited that they are now prepared for their next steps.
Congratulations to all of them for such impressive results across all subjects. We look forward to hearing from our 2024 alumni who are now equipped for the next life chapter.”
