MADfest 2019
What a success MADfest 2019 turned out to be! Amazing music, dance and drama entertainment, a remarkable art exhibition, fun stalls, and to top it all off, a refreshing bar and delicious food available from start to finish.
MADfest marks the most popular night of the year and a chance for students to show everyone just what they are made of. Not only is it a fun night for all, it’s the PSA’s leading fundraising event of the year and has so far shown great prospect for the school. The PSA is an organisation run by the parents of the students at Highgate Wood School.
What goes on at MADfest?
Music and Dance
Setting the festivity and cheerful scene at the event, enjoyable music and dance was performed by some of our talented students and staff at the school. Lots of variety was brought to the stage with different genres and styles being showcased by a mix of solo and duo acts, bands, groups and instrumentalists.
Art
Crafted by some of our creative Art and Design students was some excellent pieces of work that was exhibited by the entrance to the event and unmistakably admired by those attending. Many pieces were also showcased at the A Level Art Show hosted by Highgate Wood School prior to MADfest.
Drama
A dedicated group of year 7 performing art students took it upon themselves to start a Drama Club at school. The group acted two insightful and entertaining performances at MADfest night which were evidently enjoyed by the audience.
Fun stools
Plenty of stools filled with activities such as games, a Taxi Photobooth and a silent auction all played a part to add to the enjoyable evening.
Food and Drink
BBQ, pizza, mocktails and cooling beverages for the adults was a prefect touch to MADfest and introduced the social scene to the evening. It’s without question that people enjoyed a good laugh and chat together with the fabulous music and dancing.
How much did we raise?
A walloping amount of £15, 690 was raised in total and for the most part was due to the silent auction that raised over £8k. We are immensely thankful to the company Castles for sponsoring our event, for the PSA and many members of our staff and students for making such a fantastic event happen. Roll on MADfest 2020!
