Parents’ Consultation Evening

We will continue with our successful Virtual Parents’ Evening by using School Cloud. More information will be shared before the evening itself. The date for Year 11 Parents’ Evening is 22nd October 2024.

If you have any difficulties accessing the system please email data@hws.haringey.sch.uk. Appointment bookings are scheduled to open from approximately 10 days before the event.

Appointments will be on a first come, first served basis though the school will be contacting some families in advance to pre-book a few slots. Please be aware that the appointments are scheduled at 3-minute intervals to allow teachers with multiple classes to see as many families as possible. For most classes the time allocated will be multiples of this (usually six-minute slots).

Should a member of staff become fully booked parents/carers will need to request feedback via telephone or email. This can be done by contacting members of staff directly, your child’s form tutor or Head of House. Please be aware that Parents’ Evenings are to meet your child’s subject staff rather than their form tutor.

Sixth form Applications, references and predicted grades

At HWS we put every effort into ensuring our students have the best and widest set of opportunities for their further studies after year 11.  For the vast majority of course this involves staying at HWS though some students find that there are courses that they might want to study which are not on offer at HWS.

• For all year 11 students we provide a single reference that is written by their tutor and stored centrally by the school office. No other staff will be able to provide references.  This reference is given to any sixth form / organisation that requests a reference.
• The predicted grades and references are available only at / after the parent’s evening in year 11.  Predicted grades can’t be given before this date, sixth form providers are aware of this and it has never disadvantaged any of our students
